Stripe is powering a new shopping feature called Copilot Checkout that allows Microsoft Copilot users in the United States to purchase products from Etsy businesses and retailers like Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie directly within chat conversations. When a Copilot conversation leads to a shopping moment, a Stripe-powered checkout appears natively in the interface.

The integration uses the Agentic Commerce Protocol, an open standard for agentic commerce co-developed by Stripe, to communicate between Microsoft and sellers. To accelerate merchant onboarding, Microsoft will integrate Stripe’s Agentic Commerce Suite, which helps businesses make their products discoverable to AI agents and handle checkout, fraud protection, and payments through a single integration.

Microsoft has been a Stripe customer since 2022, when it began using Stripe for payments. The company later adopted Stripe Connect for payment acceptance and identity verification across its marketplace initiatives.
