Standard Chartered’s Global Chief Investment Office has launched “Long Story Short,” a new equity newsletter featuring an AI bubble meter designed to help investors evaluate risk-reward in the artificial intelligence sector. The inaugural edition projects potential returns of 5-10% for AI-related investments over three to six months, indicating an improved confidence level.
The newsletter presents market insights in a streamlined three-section format: “The Story,” “Long” (positive implications), and “Short” (negative implications). The bank expressed caution regarding traditional business models vulnerable to disruption, particularly in hardware, legacy software, and service sectors facing accelerated AI adoption.
Sundeep Gantori, Chief Investment Officer for Equities, said the AI Bubble Meter was launched because “investor sentiment remains fragile, given the evolving geopolitical landscape.” The tool aims to provide a confidence index for assessing the rapidly evolving AI investment landscape.
