Standard Chartered has appointed Peter Burrill as interim Group Chief Financial Officer, replacing Diego De Giorgi who departed to pursue external opportunities. The appointment took immediate effect.
Burrill previously served as Group Head of Central Finance and Deputy CFO at Standard Chartered and has been with the bank since 2017. He brings approximately 20 years of experience at KPMG followed by roles at Deutsche Bank, and also serves as Supervisory Board Chair at SCB AG, a position held since March 2025.
Group Chief Executive Bill Winters said, “As deputy CFO, Pete has extensive sectoral experience…we remain well-positioned to capitalise on the strategic focus.” De Giorgi will receive salary and benefits through his final employment date but will not receive a 2025 incentive award or 2026 long-term incentive plan award.
