Rainforest, an embedded payment provider for software platforms, has partnered with PayPal to launch integrated payment solutions that allow platform clients to embed PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later into their checkout experiences. The collaboration provides a single interface for cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers alongside PayPal’s payment options.
The integration addresses the continued prevalence of offline payments, with 61% of Americans still writing checks. PayPal’s Taira Hall described vertical software as “a strategic growth area” as commerce increasingly moves into software applications. Rainforest CEO Joshua Silver said the partnership enables “a first-class payments experience – unified, seamless, and fully embedded.”
Key benefits include streamlined merchant onboarding, unified API configuration, consolidated reporting, real-time payment data, and single daily deposits with detailed reconciliation. The integration eliminates the need for separate payment method integrations, reducing development complexity and operational overhead for software platforms.
