Visa has completed its acquisition of Prisma Medios de Pago and Newpay in Argentina from Advent International, following the definitive agreement announced on February 19, 2026. All customary closing conditions were satisfied, with the deal closing in Visa’s fiscal second quarter.
Prisma provides credit, debit, and prepaid card issuer processing services forming a critical part of Argentina’s card payment infrastructure. Newpay operates real-time payments services, the Banelco ATM network, and the PagoMisCuentas bill payment platform.
The completed acquisition combines the companies’ card processing and multi-network infrastructure with Visa’s global network and value-added services, positioning Visa to accelerate deployment of advanced payment technologies including tokenization, biometric authentication, and intelligent risk tools across Argentina.
