Venmo has launched its largest expansion since inception, enabling users to send and receive money with PayPal users across 90 markets worldwide. The integration connects Venmo’s user base with hundreds of millions of PayPal users globally, allowing consumers to move money domestically and internationally using only a phone number.
Venmo is waiving international fees through August 24, 2026 to encourage adoption. A commissioned survey of 2,000 Americans found that 59% of payment app users would eliminate other apps if one enabled seamless global payments, while 41% of Americans send money internationally and 42% of Gen Z do so monthly.
Diego Scotti, General Manager of Consumer Group at PayPal, said the integration delivers “simple, secure ways to move money in the moments that matter most.” The feature supports automatic currency conversion, with senders entering amounts in U.S. dollars and recipients viewing the converted amount in their preferred currency.
