More than 26,000 participants competed in the 45th Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, where Emma Grace Hurley set a new American women’s 8K record with a time of 24:29, breaking Deena Kastor’s mark from 2005. The race featured an 8K course through downtown Chicago and a 2-mile lakefront walk. Mohammed Ahmed won the men’s race in 22:59, Melanie Hamilt claimed the non-binary division at 29:07, and Hannah Babalola and Ethan Burkhart won the wheelchair competition.
The Deloitte Elite Club Competition drew 70 USATF-member teams competing for a $30,000 prize purse across men’s, women’s, and mixed divisions. Hansons-Brooks ODP won the men’s team competition in 1:34:20, Hansons-Brooks Original Distance Project topped the women’s division in 1:47:07, and Swoosh TC captured the mixed team title in 1:37:23.
