Allianz is undertaking a sweeping AI upskilling initiative across its global workforce, with more than 150,000 employees in over 70 countries participating in the company’s Global AI Run in 2025. The effort, which earned Gold at the Globee Business Awards 2025 and HR Brilliance Awards 2026, reflects the insurer’s view that strengthening AI skills directly improves customer service through faster responses, greater personalization, and better accuracy.

Isabelle Kokoschka, Global Head of Allianz Global Learning and Skills Management, said that as AI systems become more powerful, “the value of human judgment, curiosity, and critical thinking increases.” The company’s approach emphasizes developing capabilities for responsible innovation including critical thinking, ethical judgment, and strong communication, rather than treating AI as a purely technical skill.

On the technology side, AllianzGPT 1.0 has become a productivity tool across the organization, with version 2.0 launching in 2026. The GenAI Lab has enabled the creation of more than 30,000 AI agents. Allianz is also rolling out Claude for Enterprise through a partnership with Anthropic and making Microsoft Copilot available to employees in many entities. A new program called Fit4AI, launched in 2026, offers tailored learning pathways for all employees and people leaders to embed responsible AI practices and drive adoption that delivers value for both employees and customers.
