Standard Chartered has appointed Ole Matthiessen as Global Head of Transaction Services and Digital Assets, a newly created role combining Transaction Banking, Financing and Securities Services, and digital asset capabilities within a single team under Corporate and Investment Banking.

Matthiessen brings 18 years of experience from Deutsche Bank, where he served as Co-Head of the Corporate Bank division and Group Management Committee member. His background spans transaction banking, derivatives, structured lending, and capital markets, with previous roles including Global Head of Cash Management and Head of Corporate Bank for Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore and reporting to CIB CEO Roberto Hoornweg, Matthiessen’s appointment reflects Standard Chartered’s efforts to “harness the convergence between Transaction Banking and Financing & Securities Services, and between TradFi and DeFi,” according to Hoornweg.
